Aim: Islington Clean Air Parents is bringing 200 trees from Forest for Change at Somerset House to be planted in and around Islington.
Islington Clean Air Parents (ICAP) is crowdfunding to plant 200 trees in and around Islington. The trees are coming from Forest for Change, an art installation in the courtyard of Somerset House, taking place in June 2021 as part of the London Design Biennale.
After June, those trees will need a forever home, and there is now an amazing opportunity for individuals, businesses, and community groups to adopt one or more of these trees, and secure their legacy in Islington.
The trees will be planted in spaces including parks, schools and housing estates and will increase greenery and reduce air pollution in our Borough, which has the least natural space in the UK.
Each tree will cost £150 to bring to Islington, which includes transport, ground preparation and initial maintenance. From the Autumn they will be taken into the care of Islington Council's tree team.
An individual, family, group, or organisation can sponsor a tree for £150 and it will be named on the Islington Forest for Change map, celebrating its sponsor and your contribution to Islington. You can even dedicate it in the name of an individual or organisation.
Your sponsorship will enable a tree to find it's forever home in Islington, and support our planet and local environment.
