What's better, sad songs or sh*tty poetry? Meet flatmates Mary and Liz, one a musician and the other a poet, as they battle over integrity, ownership, the spotlight and whose turn it is to buy the freaking toilet roll. As their friendship reaches boiling point, one fateful open-mic night forces them to confront each other over whose right it is to tell someone's story. This two-hander dramedy blends stand-up, song, spoken word, rap and storytelling.

MissMatch is a theatre-making duo made up of Megan Keaveny and Ellie Campbell, graduates of the acclaimed Manchester School of Theatre. They are passionate about blurring the lines of theatrical mediums, experimenting with how character-driven plays can be elevated by spoken word and live music. Your support would help us cover venue, marketing, travel and expense costs! As many of us know, heading to the fringe is expensive but this has always been a dream for the both of us. Heading to Edinburgh will help us as emerging creatives to expand our industry connections outside of Manchester grow. We hope our industry connections outside of Manchester will grow. For Megan, as a young woman from a rural community in Wales, she never grew up with easy access to the arts. Her first Edinburgh Fringe was 2023, and she couldn’t believe the creative opportunities. For Ellie, born and raised in Dundee, the fringe will enable her to reconnect with Scottish Industry since growing up heavily in the local theatre community (Ellie was one of the first members of Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble!)

Final note from us - 'Is This Thing On?' airs out all our (and your) dirty washing to dry, and coming from two young women who live, work, write, and perform together - trust us, our laundry basket is full. This show is unapologetically crass, chaotic, and confronting. Come join us on this great ol’ existential journey of navigating friendship and yourself as an early twenty-something through theatre and live performance! We appreciate any support you can offer!
