What's the situation?
Irina (27 years old) has fled her home in Ukraine with her two sons Misha and Max (15 months old and 3.5 years old). She left home with her husband, Andrey, and sons but Andrey was not allowed to leave the country. All men ages between 18-60 have been ordered to stay in the county to fight against Russian forces. Irina and her children had to say goodbye to him at the Polish border. We don't know when, or if, they will see him again.
Irina's cousin Oleg drove from his home in Israel to pick the three of them up at the Polish border and they are making the onward journey together. He will be with her until next Saturday.
Our Mum and Papa have offered Irina, Misha and Max a place to stay in their home when they make it to Spain.
What are we trying to do?
We want to raise some money to support Irina and her boys when they arrive in Spain. They will need medical attention. They have just crossed Czechian border and Irina is struggling to stay positive. They have little to no food. Her determination is waning fast.
If we can we want to try and arrange for them to fly to Spain when they have made it across the border. This would mean that 28 hour drive that faces them once they cross into Czechia will become a 3 hour flight instead.
Irina will have 90 days from when she arrives in Spain to try and complete all of the required paperwork to allow her and her children to stay in the country. Every form costs money.
Mum and Papa have collected clothes, supplies, a pushchair and are looking to buy more items (clothes for Irina, a high chair, baby walker etc.) to make sure that they are as comfortable as possible when they arrive. We do not know what they managed to pack before they had to leave their home.
What can you do?
Please donate what you can, no matter how small. Funds raised will go to giving Irina, Misha and Max some immediate security, safety and support as they try to begin rebuilding their lives.
If we raise over our goal amount we would like to use the additional money to try and help some other families in the same situation.
Please also share this fundraiser.
Thank you so much for your help.
