The Prize
The prize is a personal Insights Discovery Profile and 3 hours of coaching worth over £500*.
At the very start of the self-awareness journey is Insights Discovery. A psychometric tool based on the psychology of Carl Jung, Insights Discovery is built to help people understand themselves, understand others, and make the most of the relationships that affect them in the workplace.
The Insights Discovery methodology uses a simple and memorable four colour model to help people understand their style, their strengths and the value they bring to the team. We call these the colour energies, and it's the unique mix of Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Earth Green and Cool Blue energies, which determines how and why people behave the way they do. It can be a great place to start if you are wanting to make changes, progress in your career or perhaps wanting a fresh approach to your personal development.
The Cause
In October 2025 twenty intrepid, yet everyday women will scale Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money for Chameleon Buddies charity. What makes this climb special is that most of the women have a stoma. A stoma is an opening on the surface of the abdomen which has been surgically created to divert the flow of faeces or urine. People who have had stoma surgery are sometimes known as ‘ostomates’. It is estimated that 1 in 335 people in the UK have a stoma. They can be for many reasons; disease of the bowel, cancer, trauma as a result of childbirth or any trauma of the bowel.
Chameleon Buddies charity promotes social inclusion among people living with a stoma or childbirth injury, both in the UK and in Kenya. The Charity is a passionate advocate for providing hope for people struggling to live with lifechanging injuries’ following childbirth, and aims to help women, and their families, adapt to these changes.
As an ostomate since 2019 as a result of a perforated bowel, I have struggled to come to terms with what it means to live with a stoma. I followed Gill Castle the CEO of Chameleon Buddies - herself an ostomate - on social media when she made a solo swim across the English Channel, the first person with a stoma to do so, and was so inspired by her determination. When she announced her next adventure to Kilimanjaro I was most definitely in!
We are all self-funded which means all the money raised will go directly to the charity. You get to support an amazing charity whilst also having the chance to start your personal development journey!
*(The coaching will be online via Teams/Zoom unless within a 10 mile radius of S44 and timing to be agreed between coach and the winner.)
