 New stretch target

Any extra money will go towards supporting those who may not financially be able to travel to European tours in the future. It will support the purchasing of training kit/ sportswear for those who are unable to afford this and remove any barriers to participation.

Who are we?

We are the newly formed Welsh Wallball Association, based on Nelson Caerphilly.
We have organised regular training sessions for children, youth, men and women throughout the week and have held a very successful tournament in August.

The last Wallball competition was held in 1999 and there has never been a Women’s team in the history of Nelson Wallball.

The Wallball, or handball court as it is more widely known, is the only 3 wall outdoor court in Wales and the UK. Therefore, it is vitally important that we maintain the interest we have generated across all age groups, and preserve Welsh participation on a national and European platform.

Community impact

The Wallball court in Nelson is a prominent feature of the community. It has not been used for the purpose it was built since 1999, and the interest shown from a wide range of community members has been outstanding. The Tournament held in August was extremely successful and this is because of the ongoing support of the community  to bring back the sport and to see the court in use again1663918789_2a17377b-b64d-4fe5-851f-60cdd49fe815.jpeg.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are crowdfunding to support all members to continue to play handball throughout the Winter months. There is no indoor court available for us the train and maintain momentum. We are going the play in the Belgium tournament in October, and will be signing up to other European tournaments, as well as inviting European players to participate in a tournament in Nelson. There is no representation from Wales, therefore it is vitally important that we secure access to an indoor court as soon as possible.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Any crowdfunding donations will be used to purchase materials to create a replica wall in a sports center for us to continue to train in all weathers. This will also further enhance the promotion of the sport to the wider community.
