Incredible Kids is an award-winning Bristol-based charity that runs inclusive play and support sessions for children and young people with disabilities and complex additional needs. We are a Christian-run charity motivated by our mission to alleviate social exclusion and isolation, open to all. Incredible Kids was founded in 2012 by parents of children with complex disabilities. We know first-hand the experience of extreme isolation faced by families who have children with disabilities. We also have extensive specialist knowledge of what support and funding is available to families with disabled children and we share this freely with the parents, carers and guardians we serve. Incredible Kids was born when more than 400 children with disabilities in Bristol lost their much-needed specialist play area. Today, Incredible Kids is managed by a group of dedicated parents who work collaboratively with over 2870 children, young people and parent carers members to deliver a service that truly meets their needs. Incredible Kids has become a vital lifeline that provides an essential service to disabled children and their families in Bristol, whose needs are routinely overlooked by mainstream services. In 2022 we won the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of the work our volunteers do to support disabled children. We target the needs families tell us they want support with, which includes somewhere safe to play and be themselves, a place to socialise and feel included, and a safe space away from prejudice.
