In 2011, In The Mix Project took over the youth centre and Log Cabin outdoor learning space in Wiveliscombe to save local youth work and provide a safe space for young people.
As demand for our services has grown, so has the need to store all the resources we have, donations we receive and equipment we use for fundraising and community events. We are very lucky to have inherited lots of resources, some which we have lovingly looked after and maintained for over 10 years. From cooking equipment and bicycles, drums and VR headsets, to tents and archery equipment - we have lots of stuff which needs housing.
We also receive donations from the community for our fundraisers, food from local supermarkets and other resources and we have far outstripped the limited storage we have access too.
The charity is in desperate need for additional storage facilities, and would like to have a permanent home for resources. Therefore, we have decided to fundraise for a shipping container, a long term secure store for some of our equipment.
The container will provide a secured and theft prove store for our equipment, ensuring it remains dry, and easy to access for use by young people and for our work in local communities.
The container will also become a space for maintaining and repairing equipment - like our tents we use for DofE expeditions and mechanism to help provision users understand more about mend and make do.
