We would like to raise some funding to complete training to sail. We want to buy a sailing boat and start a charity to help people cope.

We lost our beloved Finn in March 2021 towards the end of the pandemic time. He had struggled with his depression for many years but found this lockdown time even harder. He was brave and wonderful and very gentle.  We would often talk together about having adventures and we would fantasise about taking off to sea in a sailing boat. He liked to think that when he was older he would buy a boat for the family.
in 2018 we had tried a small sailing trip ( the photograph is from that trip) and I noticed his lift in mood and excitement of being at sea. Since losing him at the age of 20, I have thought a lot about that trip and how other trips could have potentially helped to lift his mood in difficult times.

I would like to raise some funds to become a fully trained skipper of a boat that can then be available for people who are needing to see a different horizon and experience the joy of being on a boat. I have already completed my day skipper qualification and now need to get more experience  and further qualifications. Doing this will also help me to be nearer to my son, Finn, who I know will be cheering me on.
I would like to aim at raising enough money to complete my training and experience so that I can feel fully confident to be able to get to the next stage of this project.
