we've got a bit of a problem over at SCHQ. the problem is, to put it bluntly, money. or rather, lack thereof
so i've got all these new songs i've been working on for my next album. concepts i've been cooking up, plans & dreams.
i've been working hard behind the scenes with my team, doing all we can to secure funding.
unfortunately, every avenue we have hitherto explored has been unsuccessful.
now, i'm turning to you... to tell you the truth, i wasn’t sure i wanted it to go down this road. if you know me, you’ll know i find it extremely difficult to ask for help - and as everyone is struggling these days, i’ve been reluctant to ask anybody for anything. but we’ve reached a critical point where if i can’t capitalise on all the hard work i’ve dedicated for years, my career won't progress in the direction it needs to.
& so to start with, i’m doing what i do best – putting on a fundraising show at paper dress vintage on thursday, april 3rd - for a one-off musical extravaganza to raise some cold, hard CASH to help make my album a reality!
i will be performing new tunes - some for the first time - i'll revisit hits from my debut... & furthermore, i'll be covering some of my favourite songs with an all-star band. but that's not all. we'll also have a slew of super special guests including JIM JONES, AISHA KHAN, SURI SUMATRA & more to be announced.
I was fortunate to experience some success with my debut album, 'In The Blue Corner'. After years of muddling along through the wilderness, it felt amazing for this record I had so lovingly created for years finally fly the nest, and spread its wings in the big wide world. Its release brought me numerous opportunities, unbelievable radio play, some excellent collaborations, and a whole load of new listeners. I am ready to keep this going with 'Disobedient Daughter', but I need your help to make it happen.
After several near misses with attempts to secure artist funding, my team and I decided to bring you, the listeners and lovers of my music, into the equation. I want you to be a part of this next record as much as I want to get it done and share it with you.
