Ignite Life offer bespoke support to meet each unique need of young people and their families. Ignite Life provides three main services which work to reduce the inequalities disadvantaged and/or marginalised young people face by creating accessible mental health care for all, reducing the educational gap, providing economic support, and reducing social isolation. Ignite Life is a charity that aims to help young people and their families overcome adversity.
Ignite focuses on relieving the needs of disadvantaged and/or marginalised young people through supporting with wellbeing and mental-health, family support, addressing food poverty and economic inequality and educational support.
We run three main services which aim to work collectively to provide the best possible support, these are counselling, mentoring and food delivery.
Since launching in January 2021, Ignite Life has provided over 40 young people with 1:1 counselling and demand keeps growing. We provide mental health support to those who, due to social disadvantage, too often slip through the net.
Our mentoring service supports young people when they are not having their needs met elsewhere. Mentoring can be the only contact young people have outside their home due to not being in school, this allows young people to build safe relationships and raise aspirations.
Our food delivery service supports families in food poverty. Disadvantage causes barriers for young people, causing challenges in education, employment, and social life. Since April 2020, we have delivered over 80,000 meals and £2000 in food vouchers to families in food poverty.
