Showing the lives of young immigrants in a web series.

by Ruby Lee in Bournemouth, England, 英国

Introduction

This is a six-episode comedy international web series, with each episode lasting 35 minutes

In this short film, we incorporate real events from our surroundings into the story, showcasing the true situation of immigrants.

Through this web series, we hope to help families who miss their loved ones understand the lives of young immigrants in a lighthearted way. We aim to showcase the bittersweet reality of those immigrants living abroad, using comedy to highlight their struggles and frustrations, dispel misconceptions about this group, and bring some laughter to our audience.

This group of characters is comprised of those who are pursuing their education or have just entered society. They arrive in a new country full of hope. However, due to their inexperience and naivety, they face various setbacks and difficulties, and then struggle to overcome them.

How We Will Use The Funds

As an independent web series, we face several challenges despite most of our team being film school students. We are approaching our graduation projects, and the uni's equipment is in high demand.

We need the budget to cover the purchase or rent filming equipment, transportation costs, and provide basic food and water for the crews and casts.

If you are willing to support immigrants in sharing their stories, please consider donating to our project. Your help will support us in bringing it to the screen.

If we successfully complete the series, we will update you with posters and behind-the-scenes interviews.

Why Now?

There are many drama about immigrants, but very few of them focus on specific young immigrants.

Their stories are not tragic, but it's highly representative. They document the impact of cultural shock on young immigrants in the era of the Internet and express it in their unique, internet-savvy way in this drama.
