Raising funds for a special, heartfelt and comedic film which we are making for our graduation project at the University of Westminster!

I Think My Dad's a Cyborg and I Think He Killed My Mum is a short coming-of-age film we are making for our graduation project at the University of Westminster. We have already worked so incredibly hard to get this project chosen to go into production, and now we need YOUR help to bring it to life!
A lonely year after his mother's death, awkward hermit Peter is still no closer to his father, and he thinks he knows the reason why; a reason which he must confront at the family gathering before the secret spirals out of control...his dad MUST be a murderous cyborg.
Although explored through a comedic lens, the story explores the little things we do, or say, because we miss someone, and is truly about the importance of connection: Peter is missing his mum, and his dad is missing his wife...and sometimes when things hurt, it is a little easier to hide yourself away (and let your imagination run wild) than to confront the truth.
Humour can be a form of medicine, a light in the darkness, and this film provides a funny and exaggerated approach to how life can sometimes feel in the face of death.
Grief is such a confusing and lonely process that we, as a creative team, are all very familiar with, and providing a space for truth, humour and warmth, will always be needed. Grief never goes away; we simply learn to make space for it.
