Dietrich Eilers is fundraising for Southend Foodbank Charity No. 1163160

£1,620
I have been living in Southend-on-Sea now for over 1½ years. When you come here, you will notice that the area is significantly poorer than many suburbs of London. The statstics say that the average yearly income for Southenders is ca. 25% less than the national average, and unemployment rate is 10% higher than the levels in the UK. Because of this, many people of Southend struggle with buying even the basics of every-day life: energy and utility bills are increasing and are getting unaffordable for the people. Also the cost of food has gone up very much recently.
We can be grateful that there are people in Southend (and all over the UK) who provide food for other people that cannot afford food anymore. In Southend, the food bank (https://southend.foodbank.org.uk/) supports people in crisis with 3-day-emergency food supplies. Last year they gave away over 8,500 of these 3-day food supplies.
I want to support this charity and this cause. Inspired by the fasting of my Hong Kong Colleagues, I will fast for 3 whole days (4 – 7 December) and ask you to support this with a donation, so we can fund as many 3-day-food rations as possible.
If you are a British tax payer, then please also tick the "Gift Aid" field - this makes your donation feed 25% more people without any more cost to you.
