Hi Everyone,
Carole (my Wife) and I have decided to take part in this Hike together. In May 2019, I was diagnosed with Leukaemia and since my diagnosis Macmillan have helped us enormously and we felt the Hike was an opportunity to give back and say thank you to Macmillan. Carole and I also thought that this would be a nice day to spend time with each other enjoying the Gower countryside.
On top of my Leukaemia, Carole also has severe epilepsy and will be having surgery in February 2020 to help reduce or, with hope, stop her seizures. After her Brain surgery, Carole will be going through 6 months of recovery and this Hike will hopefully be a rewarding step to recovery for her.
I am also suffering from chronic tiredness and fatigue from my treatment and possibly the Leukaemia itself and by setting this target, I'm hoping it will allow me to become fitter and stronger and strengthen my confidence in myself.
We also have 3 small children: Rhys 2, Emily 4, and Alice 8. I am also hoping that this Hike shows our children how strong we both are and reassures them that we are ok really!
Thank you for reading my page, please help me raise my target so Macmillan can continue their good work and help more people like me and my family.
