We're still collecting donations

On the 11th June 2024 we'd raised £160 with 5 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Who are we?

We are the only baseball club in our area with a youth team!

Hurricanes Youth Baseball Club was founded in 2015 & is fully inclusive for both boys & girls ages 5-14yrs. The club is owned & run by former Great Britain National Team players Jon Carter & Ben Carter who are BSUK coaches & are DBS Enhanced Certified. The emphasis is FUN first & foremost & is growing in popularity. The club is run through the summer months. The Hurricanes are registered & insured through The British Baseball Federation who are the National Governing Body (NGB) for baseball in the United Kingdom. The Hurricanes are also a registered Chartered Club through BaseballSoftballUK who are the National Development Agency for Baseball & Softball in the United Kingdom.

Hurricanes Adult Baseball Club has been created to allow the children a natural progression into adult baseball. Anyone 14yrs or over can play adult baseball for the Hurricanes from the following season. We hold indoor practice sessions through the winter in preparation for this at Sackville School.

The club will be starting the Southern Instructional Baseball League (SIBL) out of Sackville School on Thursday evenings, 18:30-20:30 for 10 weeks.

The aim of this League is to give more game time to rookies & allow them to learn the game as they play.

If you would like to get involved there is still space on our rosters for the ‘Angry Corndogs’ & ‘Mashers Inc’.

It’s completely FREE to play if you've paid your annual subs but team tee’s come in at £10 each.

Why are we crowdfunding?

As a grass roots team it has taken some time to find a permanent home ground. After years of floating around locations and being refused use of other facilities in our area we have been trying to find a permanent fixture this year we were given a life line by  Sackville School in Hildenborough who have agreed we can make the school our new home ground, but this doesn't come without costs. A new Diamond needs to be built and with fencing in excess off £8000 the club need to raise money to get our facilities up to scratch a permanent back fence, storage and ground works is required.  Whilst running a couple of fundraising events we are still falling short and need your help to meet our target.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We have been quoted for new fencing from a local company that are keen to help us but materials are costly. the quotation for the fencing has come in excess of £8000.

We also require a shipping container to store the equipment in which has been quote in the region of £1700 for a reclaimed one.

Along side this the club requires regular replacement of equipment including, Balls, bats and gloves which are all provided for to anyone who comes along to play.

Community impact

Baseball is a "Sport for all" we have a range of people playing with a range of capabilities and physical abilities.

The Club is at the heart f the community with whole families participating and volunteering. Thursday night roll ups are free to members and subs to be a member of the club are minimal.

Once our home ground is established we will be offering baseball to schools in the area.

We are currently the only Baseball team in our area with a youth team and entry way into the sport.
