The Humber Job Hub Team
Angela founded Humber Job Hub CIC in 2018 after she felt there was not enough support for people trying to get back into work, seeking new employment, or for those made redundant or facing financial hardship due to job insecurity within the community. She wanted to be able to use the knowledge and experience she had gained over her long career in recruitment and as an employer, to give something back to the community and try and improve it for everyone, boosting residents' quality of life..
Angela is also a trained Mental Health First Aider and so can provide first aid to people who may be experiencing mental health issues such as depression and anxiety
Debra (Certified Performance and Corporate Coach and NLP Practitioner) provides invaluable support to our members in teaching key skills to build confidence in interviews so they feel more in control of the whole process and more aware of how they come across to prospective employers. Debra’s passion is to help people break through barriers to achieve the job they desire, tackling limiting beliefs and supporting them in stepping out of their comfort zone.
Debra is also a trained Mental Health First Aider and so can provide first aid to people who may be experiencing mental health issues such as depression and anxiety
Our members really enjoy the sessions with Debra and always come away feeling more confident, motivated and raring to go!
Julie (Counsellor, SAC Dip) is passionate about using her experience and professional counselling qualifications to help our members overcome issues, such as depression, through talking therapy. She understands how every day pressures take a toll on all of us. Her ethos is centred around building rapport and genuine connections with members, while setting small achievable goals to reduce these day-to-day struggles.
Life experience has taught Julie that we cannot always identify exactly what it is that is causing us issues but that there is that niggle of doubt in the back of our minds. Being truly listened to in a comfortable and accepting way plays a major role role in the recovery process.
Joanna (Project Administrator) is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our projects, including being the first point of contact for our members whether over the phone or text, via email or through our social media pages and website. She also manages all of our communications, including the website and social media channels.
Joanna has been working with Angela since 2016 following being made redundant after 15 years’ service in the same company. She has first-hand experience of how difficult it can be having to start again after having the relative comfort of a stable income wrenched away, particularly as a single parent herself.
With a wealth of IT and training experience gained over her varied and successful working life, Joanna is also our ‘go-to’ person for supporting those members with little or no computer/tech experience.
Katrina joined us a volunteer after becoming one of our service users. She now helps us to run our Employment & Wellbeing Coaching Groups.
Deborah (ESOL Tutor) We are also very lucky to have access to a very experienced teacher/tutor with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters and ESOL qualifications who can support our members who speak English as a foreign language, or those who need help with basic English skills.
A Few Reviews
I can really recommend this team, they helped me with my CV, shared facts of what is expected of you in an interview, what to take to an interview, questions to ask and questions to expect. I gained confidence and met some really nice people, the Humber Job Hub team and other people on the course. Applied for a job using my new CV, carried myself very well through the interview, which my last interview was 21 years ago and got the job. Couldn’t have done it without this team. Thank you Humber Job Hub
Debbie (Gained a new job)
I think your approach to helping people is a genuine breath of fresh air. I enjoyed the honest, sincere and genuinely helpful and friendly approach… and looked forward to going.

I wasn’t hearing back from job applications before but now my CV really stands out and I’ve had positive feedback from agencies. Humber Job Hub are extremely friendly and helpful. It’s so easy to talk to Angela who has great knowledge. Good communication around appointments, and text reminders when due. Angela and Joanna have been amazing.
