We are raising funds through bake-sales and other individual activities, but we need around £5000 for our Greenpower project. Please help!

Thank you for showing interest in our project!

We are fundraising for entry to Greenpower’s Formula 24+ Championship (https://shop.greenpower.co.uk/), geared towards sixth forms, colleges, universities and apprentices to boost career and educational opportunities in Science, Technology, Maths and Engineering (STEM). Teams design, build and race a go-kart sized electric vehicle with a focus on sustainability and racing competition.

We are a group of 11 Sixth Formers at Holland Park School (HPS), a state school located in West London. Our group represents a mix of different A-Level choices, mostly science orientated, we are very passionate about engineering and some of us plan to pursue it at degree level. Our main aim is obviously to achieve high A Level results in 2026, but meanwhile this project allows us to follow a passion, to make valuable STEM experiences and add points to our personal statements for university applications.

We plan to achieve the following stages:

1. Build the raw car, 2. design and build the body, 3. take it to races/meets and trial the car, 4. possibly win one of the different awards.

When we are finished with Sixth Form, we plan to donate the car to Holland Park School. With your help, we can build a sustainability legacy at HPS. Our initial Greenpower project could be reused and modified and provide future students with the same opportunity to learn and develop crucial skills in engineering, design, fabrication, and problem solving. The project also offers a big opportunity to develop skills in communication and teamwork, networking, self-confidence and strategy.

Given the fact that this is organised by Year 12 students, we will be opting for the self-assemble kit car, which costs £ 3275, and will provide us with a solid foundation for our place in the competition. Further costs will arise from building the bodywork (which needs to be designed and built separately from scratch), modifications, travelling to and from racecourses for the team, entry fees, or team outfits.

We already secured a loan of £ 3275 for the kit, and we are also raising funds through bake-sales and other individual activities. We estimate that we need at least around £5000, and for this we need your financial support.

Please donate (any amount helps!) to this fundraising page!

Big funders/companies of £ 250+ can opt for a special mentioning on the bodywork of the car.
