We are aiming to raise funds for new playground equipment for Houghton Primary School which will encourage imaginative and adventurous play.

Houghton Primary School is a village primary school in Cambridgeshire with pupils from age 4-11.

Friends of Houghton Primary School is a group of parents, carers and friends who work hard to raise money for the school. This is usually done by holding social events throughout the year which are fun and engaging for the children and their families. This has been harder during the Covid-19 pandemic and we have had to look into new ways of raising funds.

The fundraising focus this academic year, 2021- 2022, is on updating and replacing the adventure playground. The largest climbing frame was removed in 2020 as it was becoming unsafe, and the rest of the play equipment is nearing the end of its life, being over 15 years old.

The children would benefit greatly from new play equipment and the aim is to provide a new trim trail made from natural wood which encourages imaginative, creative and adventurous play.

It would be fantastic if you could make a donation, however big or small for this cause. We are running our own sponsored fun run (the 'Houghton Half') in Summer 2022, however you are welcome to organise your own fundraising events around this. All donations will help us to get one step closer to making this project a reality, and we appreciate every penny donated.

Thank you for your generosity and support,

Friends of Houghton Primary School
