Why the move?
It's been over 3 years since I opened Hot Cocoa and I've loved every second of it. (yes even those Christmas midnight shifts!) The time has come where the business has reached its limit in the current property and I have made the decision to not renew my lease in order to grow and evolve what I have already built.
Where to!? I hear you ask.
Well, you'll be thrilled to know that I am planning to stay in Knutsford and hopefully not too far from my corner. The next place is still in the pipelines so all will be revealed as soon as its official.
The plan...
If you've been following my story so far you'll know that chocolate has rocketed in price and this has somewhat influenced my decision to move locations. The chocolates won't be going anywhere but the offering will be expanding. There will be more cakes, celebration cakes and baked goods along side a breakfast, brunch and lunch offering. All situated in a delicatessen style setting where you will be able to buy some of the quality artisan produced used in the cafe. The space will also be used to host private events, masterclasses and supper clubs with my partner Jake Boyce.
What's the funding for?
Well...moving premesis is no cheap feat. As I am going bigger the deposit alone is a large sum and then there is the fit out; serving counters, fridges, building a suitable kitchen, an extraction fan, a better oven (I plan on baking in house all the bread used in the cafe), and not to mention the tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery needed. It all adds up. A full business plan can be provided upon request.
Please be aware that there will be a couple of months gap between closing Hot Cocoa and opening Hot Cocoa 2.0. Some of the rewards can only be redeemed once the new venture is up and running.
