Host a Virtual Guest for Christmas Lunch

With a growing cost of living crisis and the crippling rise in the cost of housing, we want to ensure that those in need locally can access sufficient food and clothing, particularly over Christmas.

Could you host a virtual guest for Christmas lunch?

Who are we?

The Community Grub Hub in Aldershot opened its doors in December 2021, recognising the increasing need within the local community for an independent foodbank.

What we do

Since opening its doors, the Community Grub Hub has developed into a welcoming warm place for residents, not only to help feed and clothe themselves and their families in these difficult times, but also to provide an opportunity to speak to experts on issues around energy and debt management.

Social Benefits

Even more importantly, the Community Grub Hub provides a warm, welcoming hub to have a hot drink and a chat with people who really care.

Environmental Benefits

On average the Community Grub Hub hands out circa 1200kg of food to around 220 residents every week. Much of this food would otherwise go to landfill. On a weekly basis the Community Grub Hub also hands out over 180 items of second-hand clothing much of which would again be destined for landfill.

The environmental and social benefits of the Community Grub Hub are immense.

With the on-going cost of living increase we know that this Christmas is going to be especially challenging for many of the families we already support.

The Plan

Last year we reached out for support for over 100 people, this year we need to raise funds for over 200 families and individuals! Our visitor numbers have doubled in a year which is a clear reflection of the ongoing cost of living crisis and its impact on our local community.

Can you help? If so, please consider hosting a virtual guest or even two for Christmas lunch. The average cost of a Christmas dinner is now approaching £30.00 by donating the equivalent of one or more Christmas dinners you can really help us feed your local community. Please help us give a little joy this Christmas. Thank you!
