HORSES AND PONIES PROTECTION ASSOCIATION

Meet HAPPA Jack Frost, the donkey who arrived just in time for Christmas.

This little donkey is now safe and secure thanks to intervention by welfare charity HAPPA (Horses and Ponies Protection Association).

Following a call made to the Charity, one of HAPPA’s Equine Inspectors followed up on a concern for the donkey. After discussions with the owner, it was determined that the donkey’s ongoing needs would be better managed by the expertise of HAPPA, and he was signed into the care of the Charity.

Jack Frost, a 14-year-old gelding, has a long journey ahead to improve his physical health and deal with his behavioural issues. After receiving initial veterinary treatments, a visit from the Farrier to tend to his hooves, Jack Frost will need extra visits from the Farrier to continue to make improvements to his hooves. He will also need treatment for lice and all his equine vaccinations. As HAPPA’s only donkey resident specialsied feed has also been bought in for him.

This delightful donkey will receive all the care and love he needs to make it through his own personal Rehabilitation Journey, but the financial costs for his initial and ongoing treatments and care will be significant and HAPPA needs help to meet these.

The Charity has calculated the costs to provide his care, veterinary and farriery treatments, specialised dietary requirements, winter rugs and professional behaviuorial support for the next 6 months.

If you would like to support the care of Jack Frost HAPPA have set up this dedicated fundraising page to support his care throughout the Festive period and well into the New Year to ensure that he is fully rehabilitated and has a brighter future.

Make Jack Frost's welcome to HAPPA a warm one by giving what you can this winter.
