Hi there! I am James Rhodes, professional singer and Director of Music at Kingshott School, and I will be running the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 5 March 2023 to raise funds for the education and outreach activities of my professional vocal ensemble, Horizon Voices (www.horizonvoices.com).
Our vocal ensemble seeks to broaden musical horizons through a yearly programme of education workshops, outreach projects and interactive performances. Our ensemble are soon to register as a music education and performance charity, and would be grateful to receive any donations towards our future activities. This includes the development of composition and conducting workshops, creating further digital content and resources for our virtual projects, and developing interactive performances which engage audiences in innovative ways to make choral music of all styles accessible to everyone.
We would be grateful for any donations, however big or small, which will contribute towards our future projects. We have recently been successful with a funding grant from Arts Council England in partnership with the University of Birmingham and Stile Antico to bring our Byrd: Reasons to Sing digital learning project to more Year 8 students across the UK this year. We are also delighted to be on the Brighton Early Music Festival's Emerging Artists Scheme for 2022-23 and we will be benefiting from tailored education and outreach training workshops which will help develop our planning of projects which make choral music accessible to everyone.
Thank you all very much for your continued support!
James
