Hello,
We are so happy you have found your way to our crowdfunding page! Pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea and we can tell you about the adventure we are all on to reclaim back our lives, and how you can support us to continue this journey, and grow our community.
During Covid19 the three of us realised that there was a real lack of eating disorder peer support out there, and with so many people struggling with eating disorders we realised we wanted to, and needed to do more.
After months of talking about it, millions of whatsapp messages we decided that we need to conquer our fear of stepping out of our comfort zones, so that we could bring something for you all. We care passionately about improving the treatment and care of people with eating disorders, using our lived experience to support one another.
Hopes Spring was born out of one peer support group with members of all different ages, all different diagnosed and undiagnosed eating disorders and all over the world, realising that together we can champion each other and pursue total recovery together. We laugh together, we cry together, we vent, share wins and funny photos… all with the same goal to reclaim back our lives and live-in total freedom from eating disorders.
Our groups are totally free, for everyone who has been affected directly by an eating disorder, you don’t have to be diagnosed officially, and can have any type of eating disorder to be involved.
Over the last year we have seen an increasing number of people struggling with eating disorders, and with recent frustrations around wider funding, we are asking for your support to help us expand Hopes Spring so we can reach even more people.
The money we raise will go to:
1) Establishing more support peer support groups
2) Providing a range of speakers at these groups (from nutritionists, to psychologists and other subject experts)
3) Running more free workshops to support increasing numbers of people affected by eating disorders
4) Events for those who want to learn more
Currently people with eating disorders are facing huge injustices around access to treatment and we believe this is a step in the right direction to tackling this!
We are so excited that you will be joining us on this adventure!
Lots of Love
Hope, Sophie and Emma xxx
