The power of creativity for social impact
We are raising money to fund our work using creative opportunities to enact social impact. Your support will be invested into collaborative projects such as our ethical and social clothing range.
We collaborate with people affected by homelessness and mental illness
Hopeful Traders is different to other social projects. Rather than just reinvest profits into charities supporting those affected by homelessness and mental illness, we collaborate with people who have experienced or do still experience those issues. They are the ones who's creative talents and voice we give a platform to and they choose the organisations that we support.
An ethical clothing range that would go on to raise thousands
David Tovey is an artist who at one point lost everything, almost including his life. David struggled for a few years with illness, mental health issues and homelessness. Hopeful collaborated with David at a time when he was turning his life around. Together we created an ethical clothing range that would go on to raise thousands of pounds for David's burgeoning art career and the charity that saved his life.

I wanted to share these opportunities with marginalised people
I am Charlie Wright and I founded Hopeful Traders in 2015. I was very lucky to be born into a supportive, wealthy family and I noticed that more opportunities had been lain at my feet by the time I was in my 20s, than most people get in there life. I wanted to share these opportunities with marginalised people in a way that engaged the wider public.
In 2016 I had a nervous breakdown after years of issues around depression and anxiety came to a head. I almost gave up on Hopeful entirely but am now invigorated by a deeper understanding of how mental illness can affect a person's motivation and how creative collaboration can be used to deal with it.
It failed, as I felt I had
I didn't allow myself to recover properly and attempted a Kickstarter last year in a desperate grab at 'easy money' to help Hopeful and it's collaborators. It failed, as I felt I had.
Crowdfunder have given us the opportunity to share the story of our brand whilst also sharing with you our ethical products, designed in collaboration with people affected by homelessness and mental illness.
We need you to join our movement
You can be part of that community. We need to build something big and to do that we need people to know about it, and to get people to know about it.
