Honiton Community Complex (HCC), which is the registered charity that runs the Beehive, is a limited not-for-profit company overseen by a Board of Directors who are also non-renumerated Trustees.
HCC’s Charity Objects, which refer to the geographic area of Honiton and East Devon, are to:
• Advance the education of the public in the Arts
• Further or benefit the residents … (by providing) facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation, with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents
• Advance such other purposes as are exclusively charitable … by establishment, maintenance, and management of a community centre for charitable activities promoted by the Charity
Combining the Charity Objects together with a public wish we provide facilities and a programme that would appeal to a very broad range of interests. The meeting rooms are used many varied community and private organisations.
The Beehive relies on donations and support from the local community to maintain the building and provide a programme that benefits the whole community.
