Home-Start Kernow offers free support, friendship and practical help to families with under 5's right across Cornwall. Pressures such as loneliness, isolation, poor mental or physical health, domestic violence...whatever is making parenting more difficult we are there to help. Families are able to access specialist groups, with options spread across the county, as well as one to one support in the form of a volunteer who visits the family weekly.

At Home-Start Kernow we can support families in various different ways throughout Cornwall, depending on their needs, for as long as it is helpful or needed.
A carefully selected volunteer, who has parenting experience themselves and is trained by us, will provide home-visiting support or regular calls, in a friendly, non-judgmental way.
Alongside one to one support, we hold groups right across Cornwall to allow parents to grow in confidence, create friendships and allow families to access the help of guidance they need.
Many of the families that we work with face poor mental or physical health, of a child or parent, isolation and loneliness, domestic abuse...whatever is making family life more difficult we are there to help.
In the last 3 years alone, Home-Start Kernow have supported over 700 families in Cornwall.
