We aim to turn more of our space here into space to grow and help to feed low income families in the area in such a difficult time for all.

Our Story

We are a family of five, originally from Essex however moved to Wales in 2020 with the view to having a better life for our children. Neither my husband or I are from farming families, so this was all new to us.

We moved to a smallholding where we currently have sheep, feathered beasts, a few pet goats and currently a couple of pigs......much to my dismay however they are hubbys project.

We as a family want to be as self sustaining as possible raising our own meat and growing as much as we can.

Proposed Project

We would like to turn more of our outdoor space into a growing area, purchase a larger poly tunnel and be able to grow enough to help low income families in the area.

More and more people are unable to afford fresh fruit and vegetables with the increased costs in our daily lives. We believe it is important for all families to have access to fresh produce and would like to help make that happen.

We would also possibly like to get the floor in one of our barns concreated and run workshops on how to make the produce go further, preserving excess, how people can do it themselves and asking others to come in to share their knowledge in order to make people feel more capable of doing these things themselves.

We would be happy to help get produce delivered to those without transport which may include the elderly or housebound which I think is important because it will also give them people to talk to and possibly ease loneliness within the community.
