Aim: The aim is to create a business that safely transports SEND children to school with focus on a high-quality, stress-free travel experience

There are Children that are just not being able to get to school

Currently there are not enough specialist transport providers to transport SEND children and Taxi firms are being utilised with drivers who would rather be doing longer better paid airport runs or corporate services. The result of this often means that SEND children, parents and teachers often do not know who or which driver will be turning up to take a child to school or collect from school. This causes very stressful situations.

AMD Travel is a start up and is being set up with an aim to provide dedicated home-to-school taxi transportation services across Wiltshire creating stress free experiences. Safety and stress free experiences are paramount for transporting children, including those with special educational needs, between their homes and schools. 

Focus will be on building strong partnerships with families and the council to deliver a high-quality, stress-free travel experience for students across Wiltshire.

Processes by local Councils often make it very difficult for operators to get set up through needless processes, sometimes requesting 2 DBS checks when 1 is thorough or requesting an MOT every 6 months on a 1 year old vehicle that has a current MOT running. Often processes are geared towards Taxi work and Home to School transportation is different and a needs different more specific set of rules
