We are looking to build a whole new community space which includes a church, cafe, youth work space, and community activities.

by Holy Family Church in Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

Not long after our unique building was opened the roof began to leak. Over the years we have patched, repaired and replaced the roof at a huge cost.

Due to the design, the roof membrane would need to be replaced every 10-20 years

In 2019 the church roof collapsed, and the building was condemned as unsafe.

We  have Planning Permission to rebuild and improve on our facilities, making them environmentally friendly as well as fit for purpose. As it was a Listed Building we are required to have all the finances in before we start the project. Many of the grant making bodies require us to have 50% of the funding in place before they are able to make a grant. Please help us to raise this first 50% so the we can unlock further funding.

We aim to Rebuild the church and community facilities keeping as many of the existing features that are important to people as possible.

To off set some of the cost of this by including a small amount of housing

To include in the project some accommodation for local people such as vulnerable adults and Keyworkers and for local groups and services.

Our church buildings are used by many in the community and will be greatly enriched by having better facilities. At the moment our church hall is used as a week day cafe, then packed away for evening of Narcotic Anonymous, Cocaine Annonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Brownies, Rainbows, Guides, and on Sundays it is our Church. Our new building will allow for all of this and so much more, with dedicated space for the cafe, worship, and meeting rooms.
