Operation Barber Chairs

• At High Society, our love lays in keeping our craft alive, delivering an exceptional service & creating a safe & private space to enjoy your self care. We specialise in haircuts based on 1920s-1950s.

We are barbershop that was born 1.5 years ago, out of a matter of circumstances - it kinda just happened!

We both met in Lisbon, Portugal at a well known barbershop - Figaros. Hannah had invested in education to further her classic skills & Johnny was her teacher, the rest is history.

Since then, we worked together in that very shop for a year, moved to Belfast, opened High Society & travelled a little in between teaching & sharing our knowledge of classics.

For us our main mission is to create a space accommodating all, an LGBTQ+ friendly environment, delivering high quality classic haircuts & hot towel shaves available to all.

We hope to soon grow our business into a school eventually, sharing knowledge & bringing up the over all standards in this city & country. There is space & potential for everyone. 

We love to collaborate with other small & local businesses & have done so quite a lot til now.

A oldschool barbershop - without the oldschool mentality.

Our current barber chairs are beautiful vintage chairs from 1960s (it’s what we could afford) we treasure them very much & they got us thus far!

Although, we are having reoccurring problems with our chair, a combination of them being old & parts not existing anymore.

We have fixed one of the multiple times but it returns to its state & the other one on the way. one we can’t offer shaves on (lay back) & won’t go up to accommodate our height, making our working rough on the back.

They are also narrow, not accommodating everyone. Pretty much - we love them but the have to go to allow us to offer all services & move forward. Sadly we don’t have the funds, as small & pretty new business, to replace the chairs but some clients kindly suggested crowdfunding!

We do not want to raise our prices to try and raise the funds replace them with new (& guaranteed) chairs, this way if someone would like to help they can!

Personal thank you to clients who suggested crowd funding to raise for replacement that we just can’t afford.

We plan to replace the chair with worn most reliable brand within our reach! They are of great quality, guarantee & products for life.

This way we know parts can be replaced, how the chairs work & also the main guy in the UK who can support any servicing, repairs or parts.

We will aim to have more rewards added over the weeks once we explore more ideas.
