Sometimes things go wrong; there's not enough money to pay for essentials and families have to decide whether to buy food or school uniform or to fix the washing machine. Sometimes, loss of a job means loss of a car and a home. Sometimes anxiety about health or even small debts means people can't cope. Zink is here to help.
High Peak Foodbank at Zink provides emergency food to families referred by support organisations. This support is short term and people receiving food parcels have to be doing something to resolve their situation.
At Zink we can help with this too!
Our advice worker gets on the case straightaway to help resolve issues related to benefits, housing or personal finance. We even seek out small grants to pay for essential items like cookers, kids shoes, bedding etc. when families can't afford them.
And Zink goes further!
Once issues are resolved, Zink's work coaches help individuals to plan a future and move into jobs so they don't need emergency food again. Zink's wellbeing services enable people to feel better about themselves and give them a sense of belonging.
Zink is for life and work.
But it all starts at High Peak Foodbank where people in desperate situations come first. We need funding to keep it going! Funding will pay for facilities costs, volunteer expenses, coordination
