Hi Kent aims to raise awareness of the needs of D/deaf people and provide practical support to manage hearing loss throughout Kent. Activities include: Assessments of need on behalf of Kent County Council. Provision of assistive equipment and advice. Hearing aid maintenance clinics. Counselling service. Group therapy. Social and walking groups. Befriending service. Technology support. Information gateway service. Sign language and Deaf Awareness courses. Tinnitus support groups. Lipreading classes.

Hi Kent are a Charity that offers many different services for the D/deaf, deafened and hard of hearing across the whole of Kent. Our services include:

  • Assessment of need service on behalf of KCC
  • Free hearing aid aftercare clinics
  • Provision of assistive equipment
  • Free lipreading classes
  • Free tinnitus support groups
  • British Sign Language courses
  • Deaf awareness courses
  • Counselling service
  • Group therapy sessions
  • Social groups
  • Walking groups
  • Technology support
  • Wellbeing 'Gateway' service
  • Befriending service

We have many volunteers who help with some aspects of our services and we couldn't do it without them.

To support these services we also do a lot of fundraising, including:

  • Quiz nights
  • Online gift shop
  • Charity meal evenings
  • Lottery
  • Selling products at Christmas events across Kent
  • Collection cans
  • Marathon / 1/2 marathon / 10K sponsored runs
  • Sponsored events
  • Raffles
  • Collections at sports events

We are always on the look out for sponsors, sponsorship and anyone who would like to help us raise money. Our services are vital for the D/deaf, deafened and hard of hearing across Kent and we care passionately about what we do.
