by Hertford Museum in Hertford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

Our Wagathon Walk takes in Hartham, the Meads, Ware Park, St Leonards and the Warren and comes in at around 5 miles. Participants can take it at their own pace and our team will be there to support both two and four legged supporters with water and gravy bones! All participants will receive a guide map with lots of fun historical facts about the route.

Visit www.hertfordmuseum.org and check out our events page to find out how to take part or sponsor a dog here.

All funds raised directly support the work of Hertford Museum.

We would love to know if your dog is taking part so please email us with a picture of your dog and a little info about them and we will add it to our online gallery. This also makes it much easier for other people to sponsor your dog!

Why support Hertford Museum?

Our motto  - Inspiring Generations - is central to everything we do here at Hertford Museum. We hope that every visitor, whatever their age or interests, finds something to inspire them in our exhibitions, events and workshops. From discovering amazing stories and collections to having fun getting crafty as a family, Hertford Museum serves our whole community.

We have always been a free admission museum and we are passionate about ensuring access to local heritage for everyone and keeping any costs as low as possible. With running costs rising every year, this isn't always easy.

Financial support for the museum means support for:

  • reminiscence workshops for older people's clubs
  • making, sticking, painting and creating for kids of all ages
  • discovering amazing creatures and inspiring people
  • preserving 100,000+ collections
  • new research undertaken by Universities based on our collections
  • school children handling real Roman objects
  • exploring local stories and global themes in regular exhibitions
  • live music and new audiences
  • mummifying an Egyptian in one of our workshops
  • recording people's experiences in their own words
  • learning skills in a workshop for adults
  • dressing up and discovering what life was like when...
  • collaborating with local groups and communities

...and so much more!
