Who are we?
Heron's Lodge Guide Centre (registered charity number 1026890) is owned and managed by Girlguiding Milton Keynes, Ouse Valley and Bletchley and offers meeting places for a range of community users and a residential centre with camping facilities for use by Girlguiding and Scouting groups.

Why are we crowdfunding?
The centre is now 20 years old and is in regular use, so it's beginning to look a little tired and in need of redecoration. We have recently raised funds to replace the flooring in both halls, installed sound reducing panels to make the halls less echoey, and have replaced the wooden front doors with smart and secure glazed doors to make the entrance hall brighter and more welcoming

How we’ll spend the money raised
All funds raised will go towards repainting the main areas of the centre - including the halls, corridors and washrooms. If there is enough money, we will also get the blue metal gates repainted - to incorporate the new Girlguiding branding.

Community impact
Herons Lodge is used by a range of community groups, of all ages - from Toddler groups, Soccer for Tots as well as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Scouts. The centre is also used by local church groups for residentials and social events.

How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
