Upgrade our Bar to enable us to run more events at the Heron Hall, Storth
by Andrew Skinner in Milnthorpe, Cumbria, United Kingdom
On the 15th June 2024 we'd raised £1,915 with 52 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Whatever we raise will go towards the bar.
If we raise extra money we can buy new equipment rather than refurbished, and invest in new chairs and other bar equipment for the comfort & enjoyment of our guests.
Who we are:
We are the Storth Playing Field Committee who look after the upkeep of the Heron Hall and Playing field in Storth. We run successful events each year which are for the enjoyment of our residents, and the funds we raise through these events helps us to keep the facility in good order. In our recent questionnaire, we received feedback that people would like to see more events like a pop-up pub happen, so we started to think about how we could make that easy for us to do.
Our Proposal:
We are proposing to purchase a fully setup bar which we can store away in-tact, which will enable us to run a pop-up bar throughout the year - it will mean we will be able to have an average of an event a month over a year (there are limits on how many we can do in a year..) where we can have draught beer and lager on tap - as well as spirits and wine on offer, of course!
We anticipate the setup to do this will cost around £1000.
We've found a vendor who we can purchase some high quality refurbished bar equipment from for £650, and setting up the pumps would be around £250. Our clever committee member Alex has pledged to make the bar, so the remainder of the cost is for materials.
Anything additional we make will upgrade the bar and be put towards our launch party to celebrate - updates will be provided if we are in that lucky position!!
