About Me
As a young female growing up in the borough of Brent myself, I was often looked and referred as a disruptive and loud teenager whilst also going through my own problems and issues that young female face growing up. Despite all of these problems I was never signposted to an organisation or an individual who could support me and advise me on the the decisions I was making. All these years later I decided to setup Life Of Her CIC in order to be that organisation to provide females with support, advise and opportunities that I never had but needed growing up.
About Us
Life Of Her CIC provide support (emotional support and practical support) to females aged between 8-25, we aim to do this by offering a range of different workshops that allow females the chance to develop new skills and boost their interpersonal skills. Our mission is to create a safe community for females which allows them the chance to grow, blossom and maximise their full potential. We aim to work with local communities, local organisations, community leaders and other stakeholders.
Life Of Her CIC was setup in July 2022 since then we've hit the ground running having run over 7 projects across various different sectors (sport, cooking, creative arts, beauty, entrepreneurship and employment). We've worked in partnership with local authority, local housing consortiums, local schools and other local organisations. Our goal is to support young females across London aged between 8-25.
Life Of Her CIC is currently made up of three directors, 4 part-time staff members and 4 volunteers.
About the Project
We currently have an all-girls youth club up and running however funding is coming to an end we hope to get new funding to further extend and sustain it for coming months. 'Her Chill Space' has been running for a while now and has over 45 young females attending aged between 8-25; many of the older females attending have taken part in workshops and have acquired some NVQ's; some have found employment through us; others have gone onto join apprenticeships etc. Our younger aged females 8-16 are regular attendees and use the youth club as a time to not only socialise and connect but also speak on current issues they are facing and how they are being affected by this mentally and physically. Each session has a theme e.g. emotions; employment; financial literacy etc. We hope to use this funding to further extended our program. Our project has made a huge difference to the local community as prior to our workshops no workshops were put in place to support young females despite the area statistically having a high percentage of young females in the area.
