We're still collecting donations
On the 18th September 2020 we'd raised £245 with 9 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Sadly Helsey Lane Festival was canceled on 09/09/2020 - After sorting the grounds, buying the equipment and doing all the hard work

PLEASE NOTE : This project has changed... The original project was to fund the festival, Sadly on Sept 9th 2020 Helsey Lane Cottages removed support for the event and we have been forced to cancel. As mentioned in the original project (below) the event was funded on credit agreements, credit cards and savings... The total debt over my (Ian Russell)'s head currently stands at £5000, this will raise if I miss the first re-payment due on Sept 30th - The Festival was close to selling out, refunds have been issued, I've paid the debts to all of the "small guys" but the big banks aren't going to wait...
I don't want free money, I want to work - But I did that and its created this situation, So I am litrally begging ANYONE with the ability to help, to help <3 £1, £5, £10 anything will help ease the pressure currently on my head.
Bands due to play the festival have offered to host fundraising events, but I simply don't have the mental strength to carry on and set this up right now - I'm due on tour tomorrow (Sept 11th) with James Harriman playing a string of small garden shows and I don't let people down, so I will be there...
If the money isn't raised without being melodramatic, I will be homeless, bankrupt and the festival equipment I obtained for £4000 will be sold at a fraction of the price or simply taken by debt collectors...
Below is the original festival concept and idea - we proved it would work, people bought tickets and I am humbled by that, but sadly the situation is as it is <3

Tickets for the event are now on sale at Ticket Source - The event will go ahead no matter how much this project makes as it is being funded by loans & credit. Each and every donation to this page will help lower interest payments on those debts and help us to fund a 2nd year (Which without covid rules can slowly grow!)
Hello all!
My name is Ian, and I run Scorpio Promotions, a 1-man operation that over the past 10 years has helped countless bands, musicians and performers showcase their art and at times turn their love into a job. Our main line of work for the past 3 years has been tour work, Bringing artists, mainly from the UK over to Germany, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Holland, and even Norway to play for a new audiance.
Sadly the impact of Covid-19 has made that not only hard, but actually impossible - tours are booked in advance and our 3 full lengthtours booked for March, April & May were all canceled. We've survived this time - all be it at a struggle, and this project isn't to save us, its to bring a plan to life, and at the same time give us 1 last chance to save this years festival scene, even if its just for a small amount of people.
For the past 2 months since lockdown was eased in the UK we've been hosting a number of nice, intimate and safe ourdoor shows to crowds of 30. We've now been given permission the land owner to up this to 100 (including crew, musicians and staff) and pending council approval. The event will include camping and be a small, but still significant chance for musicians, bands and other creatives to showcase their craft and do what they love in-front of a real audiance.
Sadly our current equipment which is able to be used to a crowd of 30, simply is not adequate to cover the space we intend to use, in addition we will need to hire outside toilets, extra covering for the sound desk, and additional cables. Most of this money will be obtained (Hopefully) by ticket sales, however with the capacity limits that we need to put in place to keep everyone safe, this new equipment cannot be fully covered.
Capacity to the festival grounds will be limited to 100 (Including staff, crew & musicians).

Crowdfunder are offering up their platform to allow all UK small businesses to pre-sell their meals, events, hotel bookings etc. for cash now on a promise to redeem these at a later date.
