Improve the lives of children living in households with domestic violence

by Emma Thomas in Bristol, Bristol City, United Kingdom

Our project will

  • Raise awareness in schools on how to recognise and support children in danger
  • Provide direct and safe support for children at risk of violence and suffering from trauma - in schools

Why is this important

In households where children or young people are victims or witnesses of domestic violence the levels of happiness, anxiety and social isolation among the children is detrimentally impacted. This can also be life threatening and have devastating longer term effects on children.

The levels of households where children live in fear has reached astronomic levels since the coronavirus.

By providing a safe space for them to talk to children’s psychologist we will be automatically able to reach out to them by demonstrating a COMPASSION providing SAFETY and a sense of SECURITY by explaining that none of this what is happening isn’t their fault and to help them maintain their anxiety and isolation by building a resilience and self- esteem.

What we will achieve

Together with @{{Crowdfunder}}, the @{{National Emergencies Trust}} who will match fund your donation, we will be able to continue our successful schools program.

  • 100 vital one to one sessions
  • 15 group support sessions
  • Training for at least 25 more teachers and carers
  • Reach 2 more schools
  • Longer term support to children through our successful buddy friendships

Please help us to help the children who have been through so much pain and suffering to start living their lives.
