We are a domestic abuse charity which was set up in 2015 to help women and children who have been or are currently affected by domestic abuse.

We have 5 main areas of service.

1.      Working with women who are at high risk of serious harm or homicide. We work with them and all the other agencies to reduce the risk as far as possible.

2.      We run recovery services which help women understand what has happened to them and this is the beginning of their recovery.

3.      We run many empowerment workshops and courses. These include teaching methods of staying safe while still dealing with an abuser. How mental and general health are affected by domestic abuse. We run a series of financial workshops which teach budgeting and how to use your money to the best advantage.

4.      We provide mental health and well-being services. This is done one to one and in group settings. Each woman will have a plan devised specifically for her which will bring about the best meant health and well-being possible.

5.      We go out into the community and teach other agencies, businesses, educational establishments etc about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

We have three full time and one part time staff. We also have very passionate and hard working volunteers. We also have a robust board of five members who are the backbone of the operation.

A big part of domestic abuse is isolation. The perpetrator will alienate the victim from her support network of friends, family, colleagues etc. This means that she will have no body to help her with anything.

Unfortunately, this also means that she will find it difficult to access service which can help her.

In the past we have hired a  creche facility to come to Jubilee House and look after the children, allowing the mum's to take part in the services.

When the funding ended and we were unable to secure further funding, the effect on the mum's was heartbreaking. We are desperate to secure enough funding to reinstate the facility for 2025.

The cost of the creche hire and some equipment and sundries to allow it to run for the year comes to approximately £7,500.00.
