Secure the Future of Rural Education in Gambia – Help Us House Our Teachers
In the heart of rural Gambia, we’ve built three schools that are transforming young lives — but now we face a challenge that could undo everything we’ve worked so hard to achieve.
Our biggest problem is not the classrooms. It’s keeping the teachers.
Even though the Gambian government generously pays their wages, our passionate educators are leaving — not because they want to, but because the living conditions are simply unlivable. These teachers and volunteers travel over 100 miles to reach these villages, only to find no safe, comfortable place to rest. The areas are remote, the accommodation is poor, and the environment is inhospitable. As a result, children are losing their teachers every few months.
We are launching this urgent crowdfunding campaign to raise £50,000 to build proper accommodation for our teachers and volunteers. This includes safe, furnished, on-site housing where they can rest, recover, and feel supported — so they can stay and do what they love: teach.
If we succeed with your help, we’ll protect the future of education for hundreds of children and support the well-being of those shaping it.
You can be part of the solution.
Your donation will help us:
- Build and furnish clean, secure living quarters for teachers
- Create a stable environment that encourages long-term commitment
- Ensure every child has consistent access to quality education
We've seen firsthand how education changes lives. We've seen children grow in confidence, families begin to hope, and communities slowly transform. But without a consistent teaching staff, all of that is at risk.
Let’s fix the problem behind the scenes so the learning can continue in the classrooms.
Please give if you can. Share if you can’t. Every action helps.
Thank you for believing in this mission — and in the power of education.
