Hi everyone,
I’m Alina, a 27-year-old Ukrainian who grew up in Spain. For the past three years, my boyfriend and I have been in a long-distance relationship—me in Barcelona, him in the UK. Brexit has made it nearly impossible for us to live in the same country, despite our efforts to reunite.
We registered our civil partnership in Spain so he could work here, but after a year of searching, he still hasn’t been able to find a job. The demand for English-speaking finance professionals in Spain is low, making it extremely difficult for him to find opportunities. On the other hand, I have better chances of finding a job in the UK, but the Family Visa costs nearly £10,000, which is beyond our reach right now.
Most UK companies don’t want to invest in sponsoring visas, making this path even harder. We just want to build a life together in the same place, but financial and legal barriers keep us apart. That’s why we’re turning to you for help.
Your support will go directly towards covering the costs of the UK Family Visa, allowing us to finally close the distance and start our future together. Any amount, big or small, would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give. ❤️
