Aim: To design and launch a comprehensive, community-based service specifically designed to support ex-offenders and their families.

Help Us Build Second Chances: Supporting Ex-Offenders and Their Families
Founded in 2025, grounded in Christian values, The Ramana Foundation was born from a vision to provide long-term support to ex-offenders and their families. Christian values offer a deeply compassionate and powerful foundation for supporting ex-offenders and their families. Many core principles of Christian teaching speak directly to the needs, dignity, and potential of people who are often forgotten or judged by society.

Even in the darkest circumstances, Christian faith affirms that hope is possible. The work of supporting ex-offenders is about affirming that hope and walking with people as they build a future.
Every year, thousands of people leave prison hoping for a fresh start. But for many, that hope is short-lived.
Once outside, ex-offenders face a harsh reality—stigma, isolation, broken family relationships, and few pathways to long-term support. While short-term reentry programs exist, there's a critical gap in long-term support that helps individuals truly transform their lives, reintegrate into society, and rebuild trust with their families.
Without this support, too many fall through the cracks. Too many reoffend.
We believe it doesn’t have to be this way.

What We're Creating
Our charity is designing and launching a comprehensive, community-based service specifically designed to support ex-offenders and their families over the long term. Our mission is to reduce reoffending and rebuild lives through human connection, practical support, and personal growth.
We’re not just talking about second chances—we’re building them.

Our Service Will Include:
🔹 Peer Support Groups
Safe, non-judgmental spaces led by trained individuals with lived experience, offering ongoing emotional support, mutual understanding, and encouragement.
🔹 Tailored Intervention Programmes
One-size-fits-all doesn’t work. We will offer individualised programmes focused on behaviour change, confidence building, education, employment, housing, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
🔹 Mentoring and Coaching
Dedicated mentors who walk alongside participants—offering guidance, accountability, and genuine connection.
🔹 Family Support and Mediation
Helping families reconnect and heal by providing counselling, communication tools, and practical support during one of the most difficult transitions.

Why We Need Your Help
To get this service off the ground, we need a minimum of £30,000 to cover:
• Recruitment and training of peer mentors
• Development of tailored intervention programmes
• Venue hire for community groups and sessions
• Materials and resources for participants

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to creating a lifeline for people who are trying to do better—not just for themselves, but for their children, their partners, and their communities.

A Future with Fewer Victims, Stronger Families, and Safer Communities
Rehabilitation works. People can and do change—when they’re given the tools and support to do so. This service is about believing in people when they’re at their lowest, and offering the kind of long-term support that turns a history of crime into a future of contribution.
With your help, we can stop the cycle of reoffending, reduce harm, and create real, lasting change.
