We are extremely fortunate in Atworth to have an amazing local pub. The White Hart isn't just geographically central to this village, under Kirsty and Nathan's stewardship over the last 11 years it's become a hub for so much community cohesion. But because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the White Hart has not been able to open its doors since late March. Coupled with this, the brewery that owns the pub have not offered any rent relief despite these challenging times. Kirsty and Nathan are the sort that would help others, and have continued to help the community during these difficult times, but we know that they would not readily ask for help themselves.
Sadly, many communities will lose their local pub as a result of this pandemic because they have been unable to cover their overheads during a time of no income. We don't want Atworth to be one of those communities. Because we love our village pub and all that it provides for our community we have set up this page to help cover the cost of the rent over the past three months of no income. We know that this has been a difficult time financially for many people, but if you can help with a donation, we know that Kirsty and Nathan would be very grateful.
We would like to make it clear that Kirsty and Nathan have not asked for any assistance, this is something that we as a group of villagers would like to do to help keep them afloat until they can open the doors and get back to doing what they do best.
Atworth used to have many pubs, and now we only have one which is very special. Let's not let this virus take away Kirsty and Nathan's hard work over the last 11 years.
