The Slow Yarn So Far...
5 Years ago The Slow Yarn Spinner was set up to share the joy of hand spinning wool with as many people as possible.
In 2020 wonderful crowdfund supporters helped it all go digital and we created courses and kits for beginner spinners to enjoy from home. Your support really helped.
It has been an amazing ride, in 2023 we took part in our first yarn festivals, artist residencies and exhibitions. Our textile work has now been exhibited in Cornwall, Norwich and London.
This year we have run sell out workshops in locations across the country and won a place on The Art Workers Guild Creative Connections programme for emerging makers. But we have been limited by not having a space to call our own.
We Could have Space!
This project will help us to gain something we have never had before a dedicated studio space and the use of accessible spaces to hold workshops!
We are about to become part of Carrow House Creatives, a collective of artists and makers based at Carrow House in Norwich but we need some support to do this and make the most of it.
The money raised through this crowdfund will help us to pay for the first 3 months use of a studio space, shelving to furnish it and help to update our digital offering too. All of this will help us to reach even more people who want to learn to spin than ever before.
By donating to this crowd fund you will be able to gain access to spaces on the first workshops of 2025 at a reduced rate, including brand new rolag spinning workshop and 1 to 1 spinning wheel workshops.
Thank you for your support
Best wishes
Ruth
