St Austell Arts Centre
5th December 2020Time for a S-T-R-E-T-C-H!
Hello.
Thanks to the support we have received so far, we have reached our initial target of £10,000 in almost exactly one month since we launched our Crowdfunder appeal. With three weeks of our campaign still to run, we are able to set a new "stretch" target.
The amount raised so far gives us at the Arts Centre a little breathing space to prepare for when all Covid-19 restrictions are lifted and we can begin to operate to our full capacity once more. Any additional funds raised now, will ensure that we are ably placed to hit the floor running when that time comes.
We have been helped by receiving some additional funding to enable us to reach our target, from Creative Cornwall Calling and the Cornwall Councillors' Community Chests of Councillors Bull, French, Heyward and Pears. Some of the groups that perform at the Arts Centre have also contributed, which is also greatly appreciated.
We also benefitted from the Arts Centre's online concert given free of charge by Chris Difford, of Squeeze, ably supported by some fantastic singers and musicians. St Austell born actor John Nettles, star of the RSC, Bergerac, Midsomer Murders and, most recently, the BBC's re-working of Poldark also lent his support and donated to our campaign. Then, of course, there has been extra funds raised by the imaginative "child fundraiser", associated with our campaign: "Tea For Sue", in memory of our former Secretary & Bar Manager, Sue Hedger, set-up in her memory by her sister Jocelyn.
However, we are so, so grateful for each and every donation. There is still time to help!
THE CAMPAIGN IS STILL ACTIVE. WE CAN STILL RECEIVE DONATIONS!
So, please do spread the word! Our target has now been "stretched" and now sits at £15,000. Of course, if we don't raise another penny, the amount we have raised so far is magnificent. To raise more, though, would be unbelievable.
So, please help us, if you can, to enable the St Austell Arts Centre to reach "The Next Stage!"
Thank you!
