Help Save The Crown Aldbourne

Alan Walters, landlord of The Crown in Aldbourne for the last 12 years, is suffering financial hardship since the covid outbreak. His pub was given only a 12% grace with the rent payments during the course of lockdown when business was affected, however is now facing repercussions as Stonegate group are demanding £54,000. Alan feels like “a gun is being held to my head” and is struggling to pay back the monthly repayments. If he misses a payment, he could lose the pub completely, and have the full amount demanded in one lump sum. He’s already had to pay a starting cost of £20,000 to kickstart these repayments and if business lacks then he will have no other option than to let go of his home, life and passion. I’m organising this to try and help our pub survive and come together as a community to keep The Crown up and running. Please help in any way you can, the village would really suffer without the pub and the good that comes from it!
