Help raiding money for a wheelchair
Not quite
Unfortunately this project was not successful.

I am trying to raise money for a wheelchair and wheels I need for my conditions.

Hi, I’m Jade.

Ten years ago, I woke up with back pain, within two weeks I was rushed into hospital and was diagnosed with herniated discs, degenerative disc disease and later on diagnosed with Facet joint disease (a form of spinal arthritis).
I also have Fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, Bladder Hytrophy, Hydradenitis Suprativa (skin condition) and I had a rare form of Cancer in my appendix called a Neuroendercrine tumour.

On Wednesday 15th May, I woke up with crippling back pain and very weak legs, I then lost complete control of my bowel and bladder and later on complete sensation in both my legs. I was blue lighted to a hospital in London as I had been away at a Madness gig in Kingston. I was so scared that I had become paralysed. I was told they believe I have a spinal cord injury. After nearly 10 days in this hospital, I was sent home where I am now needing a wheelchair to mobilise, especially outside of the home.

I have had to update my go fund me page, to fit the recommendations of a OT wheelchair specialist who has come to see me today (02/06/2024).

I originally started this go fund me page for an electric wheelchair because it was cheap. Reality is, cheap wheelchairs aren’t good wheelchairs as I have found out today. Sadly I need significantly more money to get a wheelchair that fits me and my needs rather than me just fitting a wheelchair. And I need a lot of help doing this.

Because of widespread pain, I need a wheelchair that is as easy to propel as possible. My hands and arms hurt so much from using my very cheap wheelchair. Quickie have produced a light weight wheelchair that is not only light to move around in and self propel but they have also created wheels which are electric and make it much much easier to get around.

Comfort and ease is all I want and with extensive research and advice, these for me, seem the best option.

I want to be able to go out and not be in excessive levels of pain.
I want to remain as independent as possible and make memories with my children and not just remember days out because of the level of pain I was in.

I really would be so grateful for any donations and even sharing this go fund me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

Jade. X
