Aim: Bring to life a charming Scottish children’s book series inspired by real adventures and places in Scotland with Maggie the dog.

Hi, I’m Claire — a first-time author, mum, and lifelong dog lover. I’m launching my debut children’s book, Maggie and the Sneaky Seal — a playful Scottish seaside adventure inspired by real moments with my feisty wee border terrier, Maggie.

Set on the beautiful Kildonan beach on the Isle of Arran, this rhyming story follows Maggie as she meets a mischievous seal, discovers a mysterious footprint, and learns the true meaning of friendship (and how hard it is to part with your favourite ball!).

This book is the first in what I hope will be a whole series of Maggie stories — each one grounded in real places we’ve visited across Scotland.

Creating this book during maternity leave has helped me stay creative, hopeful, and connected — even while “nap trapped” with a sleepy baby. Your support will help turn this passion project into a professionally printed board book that children and parents can treasure.

With your help, I’ll use the funds to:

• Cover illustration with a Scottish artist, design, and printing costs
• Share the book with Scottish shops, schools, and libraries
• Raise awareness for Evan’s Syndrome — a rare condition Maggie lives with
