My name is Dipo Adagbada. I am a serial entrepreneur. In the last 17years I have founded multiple businesses across various industries including Education, Fashion, Sports, Finance and Media.
Achieving success as an Entrepreneur requires more than the knowledge acquired in the four walls of the classroom. This is exactly the reason why Business school Grads and MBA holders are not founders of Fortune 100 companies, but mostly first school drop outs.
This tells you entrepreneurial success comes from 'street education' - you basically learn on the go! Self motivation, team work, negotiation skills, can-do attitude and many of such soft skills require constant practice and guidance all through the way, till they become habits.
The book, 'First Steps Of An Entrepreneur' highlights 100 business rules, written in the form of quotes. Each of the quotes are detailed explained and examples of how they can be applied were also provided where necessary. The quotes in the book majors on Preparations for business start up, Funding, Team Building and Strategy Formulation. The soft copy was designed with catchy colours to be it exciting to stare at. I wrote this book in 2020 and published an e-copy online. However, although the book has great content based on the feedback received, the graphics needs to be re-worked to recreate uniformity in all pages. In other to reach a wider audience also, I will also be going to print hard copy of the book.
My goal is to print 20,000 paperbacks of this book starting with 5000 paperbacks. The book will be marketed and distributed in the United Kingdom and United States. Target readers would be SME founders and university students.
From the proceeds of this project, I will be going into merchandizing. Back packs, caps and shirts will be branded and sold. From the proceeds of the sales of this book, I will also be beginning my podcast on business start ups, where quotes from the book will be further discussed and opportunity will be provided for readers to ask questions. Other seasoned and experienced entrepreneurs will also be invited to the podcast to discuss related topics.
All proceeds received from the book sales, merchandize and podcast will be used in writing and printing the 2nd series of the books in the future. I look forward to the support of this community to help on me indie-publishing journey. Autographed books will be given to all donors, who will also be invited to be book launch and ready event.
