Help pony pursuits return to Shotover Country Park

Pony Pursuits exists because of my early experiences as a young girl, my family were unable to afford riding lessons, but the kindness of a locally farmer Mr Bosley enabled a group of local girls to care for and ride his ponies. This opportunity literally changed our lives and each and every day I strive to share the same opportunities and experiences to our clients. I can honestly say hand on heart that it has never been and will never be “all about the money”. We reap the rewards of happy children and positive feedback and this is something that money alone cannot buy. Our service is client driven and constantly evolving to meet individual needs and requests.

We recognise that every person is unique with their own preferences and so the same format will not suit everyone. We provide safe, informative sessions delivered in a client centred way. 

Through experiential learning we offer a balance between riding and caring for /handling equines. At our Huckleberry Farm base in the district of Cherwell, we have introduced the £5 stay and play session where customers can enjoy our facilities as well as learning about and handling our animals, which will hopefully positively impact upon the way children see and value animals and their right to a happy, nurtured life. 

We aim to open our Shotover Country Park location by 2026, so that we can once again offer assisted woodland rides through the real Narnia and immerse both residents and tourists, in the  therapeutic woodland environment which has proven benefits to mental health which is paramount in the current post covid climate.
